Backlight is the opposite of forward light. The projection direction of the light is opposite to the shooting direction of the surveillance camera. Its main modeling characteristics are that the front of the subject’s subject is not illuminated by light. Total loss, darkened face, and inability to recognize portrait features.

Side light is more common, and most of the side light environment is indoor installation. Side light is the direction of light irradiation on the side of the subject. This kind of light makes the subject half bright, half produces shadows, the dark part of the character will be lost, the surface of the character has a strong contrast between light and dark, and the color reproduction is acceptable.

When installing indoors, try to avoid choosing the installation location that causes backlight. If you can’t avoid it, you can use a wide dynamic surveillance IP camera to increase the light source. It should be noted that the contrast between the illumination of the front of the portrait subject and the illumination of the background when the backlight is strong is much larger than that of any existing wide dynamic surveillance camera. The implementation of most wide dynamic surveillance camera technologies enhances the details of the face, but cannot compare the imaging levels and details in a down light environment.
